"God's Partner"

Crime and    wickedness always existed  throughout human history, and it always will, but  never did it reach such extreme proportions as in the 20-th and 21st centuries. The main reason for that is,  that the religions lost  their hold on the people, except maybe for the use it has for nationalistic reasons. The basic cause  for this loss is, that now, even  half-educated people, can no longer  accept,   the simplistic, and often silly stories and precepts,  offered by  the major religions, which used to be  the principal carriers  of the basic moral teachings, formulated by primitive  pastoral tribes many many centuries ago. Unfortunately together with rejecting those religions, the people  also reject the useful moral teachings they contain and this way become individuals, who have absolutely no regard for others, but only themselves. They become atheists, believing this way that they can accomplish total freedom, without having to fear that some day they might have to answer for their misdeeds.

Total atheism (partial being rejection of only  religious dogmas) however doesn’t make sense, even though so many highly intelligent people, believe that there is no God. In order to believe that there is no God or other  being far superior to us, one must foolishly think, that one was or could have been capable to  create the universe, with  all its wonders,  capable to create themselves, overcome  among others such things as aging and death, ignore  the existence of the fantastic variety of plants, animals on earth the, create and maintain the immutable physical, natural laws etc.  Therefore there   must be a far superior being (or beings), who have created us, maintains us, the universe and everything else we ourselves didn’t, and are completely incapable to create. Beyond that, the likely question: “and who created God ? ” remains unanswerable. But,  because  we cannot answer that question, it  doesn’t invalidate the idea, that there must be  a being (or beings), far superior to us, who created the universe, ourselves, governs our life, very likely loves us, even if he, she or it, allows us, quite a leeway for independent action.

With human logic, it seems quite sure, that God must love its own creations, even though some of his actions, “Actions of God”,   such as natural  catastrophes,  epidemics, individual hardships, injustices,  sufferings and tragedies seem to contradict that. Therefore, continuing with human logic, he (she or it) must appreciate it if we, most of the time with his contribution and help,  protect, help our fellow creatures, create, give birth to new living things, plants, animals, humans. That means in fact to enter in partnership with God.

Is there any earthly partner, even a king or head of state, who can match our partnership with  almighty God? The possibility of doing  such deeds are endless, from small deeds, such as to caress a child, watering a plant, all the way, to  putting our life, our existence  in danger, in order to help, rescue a person,  persons, animals in some grave need and situation.

The opposite of this act of partnership is inaction, when a living thing needs us or  worse, when we hurt a living thing or even destroy or kill it. I hate to use the expression Satan, because most people will no doubt rightfully pooh-pooh its existence   as nonsense, but if we talk about the possibility to enter in partnership with God,  then we can also assume that such people enter in partnership with  Satan or if he doesn’t exist, with the lowest individuals of our society.

I do not necessarily think people should make clean sweep and quit their irrational religious beliefs, however  I think it is best to do so  and start with a clean slate, using your God-given mind, after serious and honest consideration, to create your own religion, own God-image, or at least purge your religious beliefs of its childish, mythical parts. If  you come to the same conclusion as I do, that we can consider ourselves as God’s partners, life becomes at once much more meaningful and happy.  I must admit, because of human weakness, I unfortunately didn’t put the idea fully into practice, but I’ll try. There is no reason that we couldn’t become a little bit like Mother Theresa or Albert Schweizer.

I have no  idea, even though there are many who claim to know, what  happens after death.  Nobody,  except some religions, in order to make themselves more important and to induce people to follow them, claim, that their founder or saints, came back from death. Stories of near-death-experiences quite uniformly reveal, that while in coma, having experienced the often described shining tunnel, (Kubler-Ross),where they have met deceased,  welcoming relatives etc.   My almost saintly wife, who died more than twenty years ago, had similar experiences, therefore maybe I should believe in afterlife, but whether such afterlife exists or not, the partnership with God can make your life here on earth, much happier and fulfilling. With human logic it seems to me, that God, who is so mighty, probably  doesn’t need to “rethread” all those decrepit, dead, old  people (I am 87) after their death, instead of creating new ones, however again with human logic, it makes sense that those people, who were good, useful and God’s partners (very much  junior partners) here on earth,  will fare much better in “heaven”, in case afterlife exists, than the lazy, egoistic, cruel and criminal parasites.
